19-22, 2009, the first High-Impact Technology Exchange
Conference (HI-TEC) will be held at the fabulous Fairmont
resort in Scottsdale, Arizona!
HI-TEC will gather educators from across the country to learn
and benefit from a wide variety of efforts by National Science
Foundation (NSF) Advanced Technological Education (ATE)
Centers and Projects.
ATE Centers and Projects are organizers and producers of this
event, which is supported by grants from NSFand contributions
from corporate and industry partners.
With a goal of Educating America’s Technical Workforce, HI-TEC
will consist of one and a half days of pre-conference
workshops and two days of conference sessions and keynote
speakers.
Attendees will have the opportunity to choose from sixteen
workshops and forty sessions in the following areas:
• Advanced Manufacturing Technologies,
• Agricultural, Environmental & Energy Technologies,
• Biotechnology, Chemical & Process Technologies,
• Engineering Technologies,
• Information & Communications Technologies (ICT),
• Learning & Evaluation, and
• Micro- & Nanotechnologies
In addition, HI-TEC will uniquely explore interactions and
convergence between many of these areas!
The HI-TEC Program Committee is currently accepting proposals
for workshops, sessions and keynote speakers. Proposals must
be submitted by January 16, 2009.

HI-TEC will occupy all of the fabulous, AAA Five Diamond
Fairmont Scottsdale resort (www.fairmont.com/scottsdale).
Conference hotel room rates will be honored before and after
the conference, creating a great opportunity to combine a
valuable educational event with family vacation.

education, so it will be a wonderful opportunity to gather,
network and learn with like-minded people.
