July 19-22, 2009, the first High-Impact Technology Exchange Conference (HI-TEC) will be held at the fabulous Fairmont resort in Scottsdale, Arizona!

HI-TEC will gather educators from across the country to learn and benefit from a wide variety of efforts by National Science Foundation (NSF) Advanced Technological Education (ATE) Centers and Projects.

ATE Centers and Projects are organizers and producers of this event, which is supported by grants from NSFand contributions from corporate and industry partners.

With a goal of Educating America’s Technical Workforce, HI-TEC will consist of one and a half days of pre-conference workshops and two days of conference sessions and keynote speakers.

Attendees will have the opportunity to choose from sixteen workshops and forty sessions in the following areas:

• Advanced Manufacturing Technologies,
• Agricultural, Environmental & Energy Technologies,
• Biotechnology, Chemical & Process Technologies,
• Engineering Technologies,
• Information & Communications Technologies (ICT),
• Learning & Evaluation, and
• Micro- & Nanotechnologies

In addition, HI-TEC will uniquely explore interactions and convergence between many of these areas!

The HI-TEC Program Committee is currently accepting proposals for workshops, sessions and keynote speakers. Proposals must be submitted by January 16, 2009.

Please visit www.highimpact-tec.org.

HI-TEC will occupy all of the fabulous, AAA Five Diamond Fairmont Scottsdale resort (www.fairmont.com/scottsdale). Conference hotel room rates will be honored before and after the conference, creating a great opportunity to combine a valuable educational event with family vacation.

Everyone there will be there because of an interest in technical education, so it will be a wonderful opportunity to gather, network and learn with like-minded people.

The Mid-Pacific ICT Center is pleased to be a contributing organizer and participant for this event.
