The Internet Archive is a nonprofit organization that
assembles and distributes a vast digital library of Internet
sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form. Their
collection includes over:
Access to the Internet Archive’s library is free, though some
areas require that you register and obtain a password. Their
library’s content is used by educators, researchers, scholars,
and the general public.

Web |
The
Internet Archive’s web content features the
Wayback Machine, an online tool that can show
you the appearance of websites at selected dates
in the past. The Archive literally backs up the
entire public Internet every few months, and gives
you access to that backup!

Moving Images |
The
Internet Archive's
Moving Images library contains thousands of
digital movies, films, and video, including
lectures, full-length films, news broadcasts,
sports events, cartoons and concerts.

Texts |
The Internet Archive’s
Text library includes a wide range of fiction,
popular books, children's books, historical texts
and academic books. In addition to HTML, many
texts are available in a variety of formats,
including PDF, Kindle eBook, Nook eBook, EPUB,
Daisy, and DjVu.

Audio |
The Archive's
audio and MP3 library contains over two
hundred thousand free digital recordings,
including concerts and other music, news and
public affairs, radio broadcasts, and book and
poetry readings.
ICT educators can find materials of interest in

Computers and Technology audio collection.

Software |
The
Software Archive includes a broad range of
downloadable software and related materials
including shareware, freeware, press releases, and
game previews. The Internet Archive also maintains
a collection of
classic obsolete retail software.
A
collection of more than 50,000 USGS maps is
included in the Software Archive.

Projects |
The Internet Archive is involved in a wide range
of projects, including:
Open Education Resources: A collection of
college and university lectures.
NASA Images: A website that provides NASA
images to the public.
The Open Library: A database of 20 million
one-page book descriptions. Over one million of
the books are downloadable.
Other Internet Archive projects involve products
and services for
scanning,
archiving, and
distributing content.

commercial purposes and users must respect any applicable
