A catalyst to position 21st century skills at the center of
US K-12 education by building collaborative partnerships among
education, business, community and government leaders
Information and communications technologies have transformed
the workplace. In addition to mathematics, reading, and
writing abilities, 21st century workers need to solve
problems, communicate, collaborate, and be creative. The
Partnership for 21st Century Skills is a consortium of
business, nonprofit, and government entities that promote the
skills that US workers need to compete in an innovation-driven
global economy. The Partnership has developed a
Framework for 21st Century Learning to help define and
categorize 21st century skills. To achieve its goals, the
Partnership also provides a variety of educational resources
and actively promotes initiatives that formalize a commitment
to 21st century skills as part of each state’s educational
standards, programs, and planning. There are at least 14
statewide 21st century skills education initiatives,
including from the MPICT region only
Nevada.
ICT educators can access the Framework for 21st Century
Learning, details about state initiatives, 21st century
learning resources and news from the Partnership’s website.
Below is an overview of what you’ll find.
