Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Educator Resources - Joint Special Populations Advisory Committee (JSPAC)

Special Populations

The goal of Joint Special Populations Advisory Committee (JSPAC) is to enhance Career and Technical Education (CTE) for special populations and to encourage girls and women to enter training programs for high-wage, high-demand, nontraditional careers. JSPAC is focused on educators from K-12 education, community colleges, adult education, business and trades who are interested in CTE for special populations, as defined by the Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act. JSPAC sponsors the Special Populations Conference in Sacramento every December. They also hold workshops throughout California every year.

One of MPICT’s goals is to expand and diversify ICT education and workforce populations, a goal shared by all ICT program educators. JSPAC is a good source of information and ideas on improving diversity with special populations.
