The Michigan Council of Women In Technology (MCWT) is the premier association for women in Michigan’s technology community. It welcomes members who want to network with like-minded professionals, in the high technology arena; share hopes, and practical issues; and find answers to business and personal career-oriented challenges. People in the MPICT region may be interested in this as a model for attracting and serving women in ICT.

MCWT provides a robust web of technology resources and an industry voice for its constituents, while fostering the advancement of women in technology. This progressive organization offers comprehensive programs structured to effectively bring value to a diverse group of professionals.

The MCWT 501(c)3 non-profit Foundation is dedicated to correcting the growing gender disparity gap in information technology.

MCWT Foundation strengthens Michigan (its corporations and organizations) by encouraging workplace diversity, innovation and competitiveness. The Foundation strives to be a self-sustaining source of inspiration, support, educational programs and scholarships for Michigan's technologically -oriented girls and women--- at all stages of their lives and careers.

As a parent or teacher, have you ever wondered how you can help young women become “IT (Information Technology)-savvy?” And, as a result, have you considered how to assist them in pursuing some of the most lucrative, and worthwhile, careers of the new millennium?

Whether girls want to pursue formal careers in IT, or merely get over a fear of high-tech gadgets, there are tangible things adults can do to support technical literacy in young women. Information for Parents, Teachers and Professional Women.

MCWTF offers many k-12 programs. Camp Infinity is a one-week summer technology camp for 9-13 year old girls created by the MCWT Foundation. The camp addresses the primary reasons girls lose interest in technology – confidence, social relevance, and social (peer) acceptance. Go ahead! Download the application. Or if you’re into Robotics, check out the Robotics Grants being offered to all female teams! And if competition and web design is your forte, then take a peek into the MCWTF Web Design Contest!

The Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation is pleased to announce its eighth annual university scholarship, research grant and laptop grant program, aimed at encouraging deserving female students to pursue information technology and technical careers. The 2011 competition commences immediately; and is open to women, of all ages, pursuing technology degrees and certifications at the college level. Also, there are GET-IT (Girls Exploring Together: Information Technology) scholarships too!
