The mission of
Blacks In
Technology (BIT) is to:

Deliver the most relevant and beneficial information and
network for African Americans in the technology field or
pursuing a career in technology.

Focus on creating a community in which African Americans are
comfortable, motivated and inspired to pursue careers in
technology.

Establish effective communication between African Americans
in order to help drive individual growth, development and
long-term success in the field of Technology.
BIT’s vision is "To build a forum and development network that
extends throughout the U.S. With a 'one BIT at a time
approach,' Blacks In Technology will serve as a catalyst for
changing the mindset of African Americans with regards to the
field of technology by giving a voice to those who want to be
heard and mentoring those who want to learn."
Reasons to join include opportunities for knowledge sharing,
communication, inspiration and career development. It’s also
free. Whether its tips or tricks, basic or advanced, every
“bit” of knowledge is good knowledge.
Blacks in Technology believes that to establish strong
community we must first get to know each other. BIT is
equipped with a fully functional social networking component
to aid in creating the communication and community needed
amongst African Americans within Information Technologies. BIT
wants BITs to inspire one another to fully realize their
potential in their careers, professions and life, in general.
BIT offers a repository of useful information to aid in career
development, but also inform its community on the latest
trends in Information Technology, career development and job
openings.
