National Science Foundation Advanced Technical Education (ATE) Centers - CyberWatch

CyberWatch is an NSF ATE Center consortium of higher education institutions, businesses, and government agencies, primarily in the greater Washington, DC area, focused on building and maintaining a stronger information assurance workforce and improving quality and awareness of information assurance issues in education and business communities.

Consortium member staff, colleges, advisory board, supporters and NVC collaborate to share best practices, methodologies, curricula, course modules and materials.  CyberWatch provides faculty training and support to colleges who want to develop or upgrade information assurance curriculum.  It develops career pathways, including articulation agreements from high schools to colleges, from community colleges to baccalaureate institutions, and on into graduate school.  It sponsors student competitions in cyber defense, digital forensics, and security awareness; and it organizes scholarships, internships, and job fairs. CyberWatch maintains an extensive K-12 program for teachers, counselors, and students. Finally, CyberWatch engages in significant outreach and dissemination initiatives to the public.  MPICT region community colleges are welcome to engage with CyberWatch to improve their security and information assurance offerings!

CyberWatch’s K-12 program includes a variety of outreach, program, professional development and counselor advisor activities.

CyberWatch provides extensive curriculum resources, including model degree and certificate programs in information assurance, lab resources for CyberWatch members, model courses (catalog descriptions, detailed course outlines, and lab modules), national standards courseware mapping, and articulation agreements for registered users. Registration is free and painless!  If you have not yet done so, please register yourself as a user of the CyberWatch website!

CyberWatch provides a rich variety of faculty professional development resources and events.

CyberWatch develops great student orientated activities and events, including student competitions, and a variety of internship, career and job fair opportunities.

There are many ways to engage with CyberWatch, and many of those are available to college and faculty in the MPICT region.  Become a member, partner or Advisory Board member!  For more information on CyberWatch, see announcements, news articles, news feeds, events, newsletters, call (301) 322-0452  or contact a member of our team.
