California Community Colleges Geographic Information Systems
(CCCGIS) Collaborative
Advances in information and communications technologies have
allowed the merger of cartography with database technology.
The resulting geographic information systems (GIS) provide new
ways to analyze, share and display geographic data.
Do you want to know who is using GIS in California community
colleges? Do you have an idea for applying GIS in your
courses? The California Community Colleges Geographic
Information Systems (CCCGIS) collaborative is where you’ll
find a community of ICT faculty sharing maps, information,
projects, and tools that demonstrate how to engage and educate
students with dynamic GIS maps.

Community College System, such as regional
