Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Education at West Hills College

West Hills College, part of the West Hills Community College District, has campuses in Coalinga (WHC-C), in Lemoore (WHC-L) and training centers in Lemoore Naval Air Station and in Firebaugh.  WHC-C was selected as small community college nationwide best representative of promoting educational and economic advancement for underserved youth and adults.  It serves about 1,200 students and features small class sizes and the latest in science and technology facilities.  The campus has undergone extensive renovations and has quality classrooms, computer labs, library and science collaboratories (a unique, award winning concept being replicated at other colleges).  WHC-C is one of 12 community colleges in California offering residence halls, and it has quality sports programs.  The brand-new, state-of-the-art West Hills College Lemoore campus opened in January 2002.  It features the largest and most technologically advanced library in Kings County, 18 classrooms, computer labs, three science collaboratories and a women’s soccer program that has annually sent players on to four-year schools. A unique partnership with California State University, Fresno, allows WHC-L students to earn a bachelor’s degree entirely on the Lemoore site. WHC’s motto is “Once You Go Here, You Can Go Anywhere”.

WHC-C’s Computer Information Systems (CIS) Program teaches concepts, procedures and terminology, as well as the skills and applications necessary to operate computers.  It features AA and AS degrees.  For more information, call (800) 266-1114 or email.

WHC-C’s Business (BUS) Program prepares students for entry level positions in areas such as bookkeeping, management, and retailing.  The business program provides a foundation for further study and is valuable for students interested in starting or enhancing their own business. The program provides students with an understanding of the operation of business in the American economic system.  Computer concepts and business applications are covered, and AA and AS degrees, as well as certificates are available.  For more information, call (800) 266-1114 or email.

WHC-C’s Office Management & Technologies (OMT) Program offers a variety of options that guide students toward successful employment in business and government, through combined offerings of CIS and BUS program courses.  AA and AS degrees, as well as certificates are available.  For more information, call (800) 266-1114 or email.
