Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Education at Skyline College

 

Skyline College, one of the three Colleges of the San Mateo County Community College District,  is located at 3300 College Dr. in San Bruno, just west of Skyline Boulevard.  The college opened in 1969 and serves residents of South San Francisco, Daly City, Colma, Brisbane, San Bruno and Pacifica.  Skyline College has as a guaranteed transfer program to four-year colleges and universities and a broad range of high quality Associate in Arts (A.A.) or Associate in Science (A.S.) degrees.  Students achieve employment and advancement in business and industry after earning certificates from Skyline's 43 Certificate programs.

The Science, Mathematics and Technology Division  offers a Computer Science program intended to give students a solid foundation in computer programming, as well as an opportunity to investigate personal computer use with a micro computer, and the societal implications of our growing use and dependence on computerized technology.   Skyline College’s computer science courses include programming in VISUAL BASIC, in C, C++, Java and Perl as well as Oracle Database courses.  The Science/Math/Technology division can be reached by email or by phone at (650) 738-4221.

The Science, Mathematics and Technology Division  offers a Telecommunications & Network Technology (TCOM) program with courses in LINUX Operating and Network system, Wireless technology, Cisco Routing and Switching, PC Hardware & Software, Network Security and Fiber Optics Technology.  Courses lead to two A.S. degrees:  (1) in Telecommunications and Wireless and (2) in Network Engineering;  and to certificates with the same names as the degrees above, and also in LINUX.  They also prepare for the CompTIA A+ and Cisco CCNA Industry Certificates.  Information on the TCOM program can be obtained by email.
