Guam Community College (GCC) is a unique institution providing career technical education programs at Guam’s four public high schools, as well as postsecondary programs at its Mangilao campus.  GCC serves close to 4,000 students at both the secondary and postsecondary levels.  It operates secondary and postsecondary vocational programs, adult and continuing education, community education, and short-term, specialized training.  These programs are delivered both on and off-campus, in satellite programs and on-site at businesses as needed.   The College offers over 50 courses of study which are job related and prepares students for transfer to four-year colleges and universities with advanced standing in professional and technical degree programs.  The College offers a variety of community service and special programs to prepare students for college experiences including English-as-a-Second Language, Adult Basic Education, General Education Development (GED) preparation and testing, an Adult High School Diploma program, External Diploma Program and Apprenticeship.

GCC’s Computer Science Department works to train our students for employment in a variety of computer-related occupations such as a programmer, a network administrator, and a Web site designer to list a few.  The mission of the Computer Science Program is to provide the students with foundational knowledge and skills to enter the workforce and to advance as technology changes.  The program envisions producing computer science graduates who are knowledgeable and skillful in the workforce community on Guam and in the region.  Visit the college catalog for specifics on computer science courses, our Certificate in Computer Science, or our AS degree in Computer Science.  For more information, please come by Room D8-b in the D building, call (671) 735-5618 or email.

GCC’s Electronics Department is always changing with the help of its advisory committee.  It attempts to stay ahead of the field in offering courses that help an individual excel in their particular field of employment.  Many of our courses are held in the Continuing Education Environment.  These courses are not on the regular semester schedule, but are offered on demand. We are currently offering CAT 5, Fiber Optic, and Cisco courses through Continuing Education.   We have a Systems Technology Certificate and Degree program as well. The Electronics Department’s mission is to prepare and have people in the industry trained and certified in computer repair, networking, and telecommunication.  The Department envisions its role as one to partner with the various government and private businesses by providing current certified courses for computer repair, networking and telecommunication career fields.  Visit the college catalog for specifics on courses, certificates, or our AS degree in Computer Networking.  For more information, please come by room 1211 in the Technology Building, call (671) 735-3033 or email.
