Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Education at Columbia College

 

Columbia College and Modesto Junior College are the two community colleges in the Yosemite Community College District.  The district is geographically one of the largest in the State and transects more than 100 miles of the fertile San Joaquin Valley, from the Coast Range on the west to the Sierra Nevada on the east.  The boundaries include nearly 4,000 square miles encompassing all of Tuolumne and Stanislaus Counties and parts of San Joaquin, Merced, Calaveras and Santa Clara Counties.  Columbia College campus buildings are planned around San Diego Reservoir in Senora, from which wooded foothills join the rugged majesty of the Sierra Nevada.  It serves more than 2,000 students annually.

Computer Science Department offers a wide variety of courses, from computer basics, to operating systems, to networking, to programming and business applications.  An AS degree in Computer Science, GIS and Applied Computer Studies – Business Emphasis are available.  Certificates of Achievement are offered in Applied Computer Science – Business Emphasis, Computer Science, Computer Support Technician, Digital Graphic Arts, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Management Information Systems, Multimedia Web Design, Network Support Technician and Website Development.
