Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Education at Chabot College

Chabot’s Computer Application Systems program includes microcomputer applications, programming languages and computer support of business organizations.   It offers state-of-the-art training in the use of business application software and hardware to prepare students for professional careers, transfer study, and/or personal use.  Students receive individual hands-on training in laboratory facilities.  We are a Cisco Networking Academy.  Faculty work closely with business and industry to ensure relevant training.  CAS offers courses leading to the following credentials:

 

·         Associate in Science - Administrative Assistant

·         Associate in Science - Software Specialists

·         Certificate of Achievement - Administrative Assistant

·         Certificate of Achievement - Office Technology

·         Certificate of Achievement - Software Specialist

·         Certificate of Proficiency - Business Graphics  

·         Certificate of Proficiency - Office Technology

The Chabot Computer Science Department offers a broad curriculum including both academic and vocational programs.  The academic curriculum is designed primarily to prepare students for transfer to a four year college in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.  Vocational programs include certificates and degrees that provide marketable and up-to-date technical skills.  A number of our courses are offered at night or in web-based format to accommodate students with geographic or scheduling constraints.  Whether you are seeking a degree, a vocational certificate or simply re-tooling for today's job market, you will find the resources you need at Chabot College.  For more information, please come by building 2000, call 510-723-6887 or email.

 

At the Chabot College School of the Arts, "Digital Media" means "doing creative things with computers."  Our classes will teach you to create and manipulate digital images and drawings, edit video, design and build websites, develop interactive user interfaces, and bring animated characters to life.  Students who choose to take the full range of Digital Media courses can earn a Digital Media certificate.  For more information, please come by building 1100, room 1120, call 510-723-6837 or email.
