The MPICT Advisory Panel is a collaborative group which
gathers, usually twice a year, to consult with MPICT. It is an
extremely high quality group of people who understand the
strategic importance of improving ICT education and the ICT
workforce.
The Advisory Panel:
-
Provides informed feedback to help shape Center goals,
strategies and tactics,
-
Helps define desired knowledge, skills and characteristics
of the ICT workforce,
-
Develops collaborations with MPICT to generate mutual
successes,
-
Gathers valuable input from MPICT on how industry can
positively and cost-effectively contribute to high quality
ICT workforce development.

Historically, ICT programs at individual schools have tried
independently to develop advisory panels for valuable
industry/education interaction. ICT Industry cares about ICT
education. However, industry cannot or will not send
representatives to hundreds or thousands of advisory groups.
It is simply too expensive and inefficient.
In one MPICT Advisory Panel, industry gets valuable
influence on ICT education at 75 community colleges, plus the
high schools and 4-year colleges and universities they
articulate with. Industry speaks with one voice, and education
speaks with one voice, and together we collaborate to maximize
positive impact on ICT education and the ICT workforce,
directly in a large and important region, and indirectly
across the entire U.S.
